FindLaw (www.findlaw.com) is the leading provider of online legal information and solutions for the legal community, professionals and consumers.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The primary responsibility of the Attorney Writer is creating quality research-based legal and current events content for FindLaw customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Production:
Track legal news and developments on a daily basis, using multiple information sources. Identify current legal and event topics for articles and/or blogs, specific to each customerâs practice, geography and marketing strategy. Write legal/current event articles or blogs (based on assignment and product guidelines) that contain accurate, unique and compelling copy consistent with the customerâs practice area and geographic location. Conduct customer interviews to finalize the topic focus area. Adhere to Recurring Content best practices in tagging, keyword usage, headline creation, content optimization and basic SEO. Understand and use performance measures to constantly refine and improve writing performance.
Projects:
Work with the Content team to understand and provide input on best practices for Recurring Content.

Minimum Qualifications:
JD Required
Experience:
1-2 years professional content writing (preferably for online media) Legal practice experience preferred Legal journal experience preferred
Knowledge:
Strong legal research skills (Westlaw research preferred) Basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) standards Familiarity with AP style preferred
Skills:
Excellent English writing skills with demonstrated ability to successfully write for the web Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously Excellent time management and organizational skills Proven client consulting skills (i.e. interviewing, research, generating ideas, etc.)
