As a Staff Attorney for MnDOTâs Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations unit, you will focus on a project to revise all rules and requirements for the unit, and will provide policy and legal recomm endations to management regarding the programs and policies of the unit. Duties include:
Adopting administrative rules, including independently managing the rulemaking process, and consulting with staff and stakeholders to identify needed rule revisions;
Provide legal support to office including identifying and resolving questions about state laws and rules, and working with staff to review violations, and preparing cases.
** This position is temporary unclassified, and is anticipated to last up to 2 years**
Minimum Qualifications:
Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
AND
1 year of professional legal experience in the following areas:
Legal analysis skills sufficient to draft propo sed rules and statements;
Legal research experience sufficient to understand and apply state and federal laws and rules
Experience drafting written materials such as rules or legislation;
Preferred Qualifications:
Current License to practice law in the State of Minnesota
