Highly specialized case management and authorized legal and technical work for the purpose of establishing, modifying, enforcing, and administering support orders.

Distinguishing Features of Work:
An employee in this class is responsible for identifying and initiating action by the court to establish, modify, and enforce spousal, child, medical, and child care support orders and establishing paternity for public and nonpublic assistance cases. The incumbent is expected to assume independent responsibility for progressively more difficult case work as their knowledge, skills and abilities in support functions increase. Duties include initiating appropriate court action, selecting and preparing all necessary documents for that action, and obtaining and modifying court orders under the general direction and in consultation with the County ! Attorney's Office. Work activities are performed in accordance! with applicable policies, procedures and statutes under the general direction of a designated department supervisor.

Work Environment:
These work environment factors are general in nature and may vary depending on the specific position being filled. CONSTANT : Lift and carry up to 10 pounds; hear within 5 feet; talk/speak; work around others; customer/public contact; and work inside. FREQUENT : Near and midrange vision; bend neck; use fingers; handle; rotate neck; sit; work alone or with others. OCCASIONAL : Lift and carry up to 20 pounds; far vision; grasp; maintain posture; move about; reach; stand; static neck position; twist at waist; walk; and work with clients with behavioral challenges.

Selection Process:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Pass/Fail):
High School graduation or equivalent, plus three (3) years full-time paid experience in a financial worker or similar position in a county social services agency OR ; Four (4) ye! ars full-time paid experience as an Information Specialist II in the St. Louis County Child Support Unit OR ; One (1) year of full-time paid experience in other than an entry-level child support worker position OR ; Possession of an Associate Degree in Human Services, Business management or a related field.
EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING RATING - (100% of the scoring proces)
Points will be awarded for job-related experience and education exceeding the minimum qualifications. Only experience occurring during the ten most recent years will be used in determining this rating. Experience beyond ten years may be included on the application for purposes of meeting minimum qualifications or informing the hiring authority of your complete employment history.
