Detailed specification about this job opportunity please give attention to these descriptions. The job of a placement specialist is never the same day-to-day. In this role you will be an advocate, counselor, and mentor for clients seeking alternative employment due to disabi! lity from a workers' compensation injury. Daily counseling activities include contacting various companies to determine their hiring status. Internet job search is also performed in an effort to obtain possible job leads for clients. Aside from those activities, a placement specialist meets with clients daily to review their job search progress and writes monthly reports to summarize these activities.
Your role as an advocate and mentor will include drafting/creating resumes, cover letters, etc for clients to use during job search. You will be responsible for documenting all activities and communication with parties involved in clients rehabilitation plan including the insurance carrier, attorneys, and Qualified Rehabilitation Counselors. Aside from these activities, you will be responsible for providing guidance and ongoing job seeking skills training which includes discussing interviewing and networking strategies with clients, and performing mock interviews to a! ssess areas client can improve upon.
Qualification! s:
4-year degree required.
Ability to multitask.
Good communication skills.
Ability to be empathetic and understanding.
Organizational/time management skills.
Creative problem solving skills required.
Ability to travel throughout Twin Cities Metro area to meet with clients.
Requires personal transportation with valid automobile insurance and drivers license.
