The Operations Manager will manage a team who will be responsible for all domestic and international operations, imports, export! , customs brokerage, contact logistics and consulting, and domestic services. This position requires the candidate to be a Licensed Customs Broker.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Overseas all operations to ensure service commitments, revenue and profitability goals are met.
Works directly with Branch Manager ensuring smooth operations within branch.
Works with Regional Compliance Managers (import and export) to ensure branch compliance excellence.
Works with US Government regulatory agencies, such as CBP, TSA, FAA, etc.
Meets with customers to bring in new business.
Monitor service, safety, profitability and expense issues.
Provide regular (weekly, monthly) reports, analyses, etc. to branch manager or corporate.
Evaluates supervisor and managerial personnel reporting to him/her on yearly bases.
Identifies and implements operations staffing requirements.
Hires, terminates, demotes or promotes personnel accordingly ! in agreement with branch manager.
Ensures proper on boardi! ng and training of operations personnel.
Provides mentors assistance to staff in all matters affecting area of responsibility.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have be a Licensed Customs Broker.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university.
Previous experience in a management position, handling a wide variety of commodities.
Minimum ten years in the industry with proven satisfactory track record, operational and/or sales experience.
Understand and be able to interpret commercial invoices, airway bills, dangerous goods certificates and manifests.
Completion of industry related courses is an asset.
