The Tenth Judicial District seeks a full-time Senior Court Clerk - Civil/Family Divisions in Wright County Court Administration. (Buffalo, MN)
This position is being posted for internal/external application simultaneously.

DESCRIPTION: This is advanced court clerical work in the Civil/Family divisions of Wright County Court Administration. Wor! k will involve responsibility for a specific area of court cas! e processing and will require the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of policies and procedures based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job. Advice and assistance will normally be provided as needed by another Senior Court Clerk, Court Operations Supervisor, Court Administrator, or Judicial Officer, but most functions will be performed with a minimum of checking or other supervision. Frequent contact with the public at the counter, in the courtroom and on the telephone. In court work and counter duty on a rotated basis are part of this position.

Example of Duties:
RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs the full scope of varied court clerical work involved in case processing manually, on Minnesota Court Information System (MNCIS) or related computer system; reviews legal documents for completeness, adequacy, accuracy and compliance with rules; determines processing required and takes necessary action in accordan! ce with court rules and procedures; will schedule and attend court hearings; may determine proper routing of complaints, petitions, and other filings; sends notices to parties/attorneys; may issue subpoenas and similar processes; may certify and/or and authenticate documents; perform financial activities within the office including cashiering; and calculate costs and amounts due for judgments, issue warrants in addition to performing some cross over information and basic work on traffic, juvenile, probate and criminal cases while working at the counter. Success in this position requires excellent prioritization and multi-tasking skills. The list of items is not a complete description of all duties performed.

Typical Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from approved high school and two years experience as a court clerk or in the legal field preferred.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to multitask and prior! itize.
  • Working knowledge of court procedures and policies, doc! uments, and terminology.
  • Strong communication skills.
Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check prior to appointment.
Successful candidate will be required to serve a probationary period upon appointment.
