• Create unique text for legal websites, including general content about legal areas of practice as well as branded content about specific law firms.
• Maintain a working knowledge of general marketing strategies, search engine marketing principles, and areas of legal practice.
• Develop and maintain an understanding of FindLaw business systems, including software used to ensure efficient delivery and tracking of incoming and completed content drafts.
• Understand and adhere to content best practices and product specifications.

Reviewing:

• Review and provide feedback on other writers’ content in light of quality expectations, content best practices and product specifications.
• Copy edit other writers’ content to ensure avoidance of spelling, grammatical, punctuation and stylistic errors.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required (English/Communications/Journalism degree preferred), Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.

Experience:

• 1-2 years of professional writing experience in marketing, communicat! ions, or similar field
• Internet copywriting experienc! e preferred
• Copy editing experience preferred

Knowledge:

• Knowledge of legal terminology a plus
• Knowledge of basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) standards
• Familiarity with AP style strongly preferred

Skills:

• Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to write successfully for the web
• Ability to conduct detail-oriented review of the work of others and provide constructive feedback
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to understand the Internet marketing needs of attorneys and address those needs in an effective and creative manner
• Ability to write creatively in a fast paced and dynamic environment
