Trade Risk Director The candidate will foster a culture of compliance to ensure risks are identified, monitored and mitig! ated effectively and timely. Will implement and monitor compliance programs for business units that transact in physical and financial agricultural and energy commodity markets and products, including futures, options and swaps. Be a key resource regarding compliance issues, policies and processes and provide guidance and support to all trading businesses, including the Futures Commission Merchant subsidiary. Partner with Senior Leadership in the design, continuous improvement and on-going execution of the overall commodity trading compliance process. Assist in developing an audit process for the annual internal Compliance reports; determine what will be tested, how it will be tested, document deficiencies, and develop a plan to resolve deficiencies. Develop a gap analysis for the audit process based on what is being done now and what should be done going forward. Simplify, consolidate, and integrate key activities and processes to both implement and realize the benefits of! the corporate commodity compliance initiative. Balance commer! cial needs with operational capabilities/effectiveness when constructing compliance procedures. Ensure applicable employees receive adequate training on regulations and rules, as well as policies that support compliance to the rules. Collaborate with businesses to develop appropriate procedures that ensure compliance as well as appropriate monitoring, including assistance in assessing systems capabilities and processes. Conduct periodic monitoring of all Ag-Business trade risk positions, analyzing data / generate recommendations to mitigate risk. Fulfill a variety of periodic reporting obligations (obtain, validate, and aggregate business unit information and prepare reporting). Assist in preparing responses to Regulatory/Exchange requests. Oversee international regulatory and compliance requirements as needed.
The candidate should have a Bachelor s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or related area of study. An Advanced business degree (MBA) prefe! rred. A J.D. degree from an ABA- approved law school preferred. A CPA License preferred. Must have 12+ years of significant, progressive experience in a large, global business with an international trade finance and commodity (agricultural or other resources) merchandising component. Should have 5+ years of commodity compliance experience at a regulatory agency, and/or an investment bank, Energy or Commodities Trading Company. Demonstrated experience and proficiency with major external regulations, including Dodd-Frank other federal securities laws and regulations as well as the latest SEC, CFTC, FERC and NFA regulatory filings, registration rules and compliance protocols needed. Significant experience with risk management (pricing, volume, geo-political, legal, and governmental) related to commodity business assets (e.g. freight and commodity) essential. Significant successful experience of working with complex financial information systems and controls in a large, complex! business that provides consistent and reliable information essential. - .
