Senior Project Manager

Location: Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description: Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. is employing Senior Project Manager right now, this position will be ordered in Minnesota. Kimley-Horn is looking for a practice builder and hands on manager to market and win land development work in our St. Paul, MN office. The practice builder will have an entrepreneu! rial spirit and create a vision for growth for their practice. This individual will also contribute to the overall growth of the land development discipline for the Twin Cities office. They will lead the business development effort with local architects and developers and manage the relationship with these key clients.

Markets are not limited by geography but driven by relationships. Leadership responsibilities include: operating with integrity and sound business principles, providing practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building and maintaining positive client relationships, open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing a land development practice. The practice builder will be expected to manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model. Management responsibilities include but are not limited to; meeting or exceeding client! expectations, identifying and tracking leads, making presenta! tions, writing proposals and scopes of work, establishing budgets, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work. The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business. Accounting, administrative, marketing, recruiting, IT, and production support will be provided.

Position Requirements

  • Must have successful track record of winning work
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local or national architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and land owners as well as local jurisdictional staff.
  • Registered engineer with 12 or more years of diversified experience in growing and leading a land development practice in the Greater Twin Cities market (residential, commercial, industrial. medical and/or instit! utional).
  • Business development and marketing experience including; writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably.
