This position will be responsible for operational support of the Personal Trust Services (PTS) New business process.
Responsibilities
Tasks! include, but not limited to:
- Active management and review of governing documents and additional required material necessary for potential acceptance of new trust business.
- Provide feedback and information on draft documents naming Ameriprise National Trust Bank (ANTB) as current or future trustee to advisors, clients and their attorneys.
- Manage Opportunity pipeline by following up with advisors on open questions and/or requesting additional information.
- Set up of newly accepted trusts, including:
o Opening necessary investment accounts and initiation of account funding.
o Establishing/updating ownership and beneficiary designations for insurance, annuity and other unique assets.
o Transferring title and confirming insurance on real estate.
o Initiation of all nece! ssary system interfaces including linking trust accounts to Am! eriprise investment systems, trust tax systems, account review system and client statement functions.
- Work with Trust Officers, Investment Officers and Operations staff to move newly accepted business into the team that will administer the relationship for ANTB.
- Establishing and maintaining positive advisor and client relationships, quality customer service, and client retention.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Experience in reviewing and understanding complex financial documents like trusts, wills, powers of attorney, etc.
- Superior customer service skills and orientation.
- Willingness to be flexible and take work assignment from others in a team environment.
- Proficient with standard business hardware and software, especially MS Word, Excel, etc.
- Proven ability to work in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
- Detail oriented.
- Excell! ent communications skills (both verbal and written).
- Ability to gather and enter accurate data into systems.
- Ability to learn and retain key systems, policy, procedures and tasks.
- Good performance record.
- Knowledge of financial products and services; Ameriprise product knowledge.
- Experience with trust accounting and administration.
- Strong MS Access database development skills.
