The Legal Services Specialist is part of a team responsible for all aspects of subsidiary corporate governance, Insurance Holding Company Act requirements, and other related matters for UnitedHealth Group. This position requires communication with attorneys, executives, state regulators and Board members for affiliated companies. Due to the nature of the interactions, the ideal candidate must have the ability to build and foster positive relationships.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
Maintaining company minute books and electronic company records
Managing company stock records, annual renewals, foreign qualifications and assumed name filings
Prov! iding support for international entity management
Preparin! g for, coordinating and attending Board of Director and Audit Committee meetings, including the drafting of minutes and resolutions
Providing support for Department of Insurance and financial examinations
Preparing and coordinating biographical affidavits, background investigations and fingerprint cards for directors and officers
Assist with drafting and submitting Insurance Holding Company Act filings
Supporting special projects
Performing legal research
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience, Bachelor degree preferred
3+ years of overall professional experience
1+ years of experience as a corporate paralegal or equivalent experience
Superior communication and writing skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate projects
Ability to deal with multiple priorities and deadlines
Ability to work well with others, but manage an independent workload
Proficiency in Microsoft Word an! d Excel-and Adobe Acrobat (form use and creation) is a plus
Experience in legal and internet research
Paralegal degree is helpful but not required
