Detailed specification about this vacancy opportunity please read the description below. We currently have an opportunity available for an Associate General Counsel in Minnetonka, Minnesota. Primary responsibilities will include providing legal counsel and expert! ise to UnitedHealthcare Pharmacy business unit which is responsible for the UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual commercial pharmacy benefit business. This individual will frequently interact with senior company leaders and/or outside counsel on complex issues having impact across UnitedHealth Group organization entities.
Specific responsibilities of the Associate General Counsel include:
Providing primary legal support for the Specialty pharmacy benefit and Specialty pharmacy contracting teams (HIV/AIDS, Oncology, MS, Hemophilia and other chronic disease states) which impact the pharmacy and medical benefits.
Evaluating and determining appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs and minimize risk.
Coordinating with and supporting Regulatory Affairs and Risk Management departments in responding to Specialty related Department of Insurance and Attorney General inquiries.
Providing legal counsel on the developm! ent and implementation of clinical programs.
Supporti! ng pharmacy benefit-related litigation and investigations, including inquiries from the FTC.
Negotiating and drafting Specialty pharmacy provider agreements, amendments, termination notices and collateral communications.
Coordinating with and supporting Government Affairs department on proposed legislation impacting Specialty pharmacy and pharmacy benefit clinical issues.
Handling transactional matters.
Handling complex legal projects.
Guiding, training and assisting others on legal issues; coordinating legal reviews with other subject matter experts within Legal and Regulatory Affairs departments in UnitedHealthcare and Optum.

Requirements
Ju! ris Doctorate degree.
5+ years of legal experience
1+! years of healthcare or managed care legal experience
Knowledge of U.S., state contract, corporate health care and regulatory law
Experience with regulatory agencies and administrative experience with state insurance regulations
Understanding of health care benefit coverage and medical policy development
Proven success in collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment
Demonstrated understanding of business problems related to assigned legal projects
Well developed written and verbal communications skills
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs
Ability to build and maintain rapport with superiors, peers, subordinates, and external company contacts
Candidates should be able to commute to the Minnetonka, MN and/or Hartford, CT office.
