The Second Judicial District is accepting applications for the position of Senior Court Clerk in the Traffic Violations Bureau. This position involves accounting and advanced court clerical work i! ncluding the preparation and maintenance of court financial records and providing financial procedural information. Work includes processing court receipts and deposits, and other financial transactions. Work also involves performing other advanced clerical tasks, including sentencing order distribution and attending court. Advice and assistance will normally be provided as needed by a Court Operations Supervisor and/or Accounting Technician, but most functions will be performed with a minimum of checking or other supervision. Positions in this class are distinguished from a Court Clerk by the degree of independence and responsibility exercised and the variety of more complex work tasks assigned. Work may include or require the ability to perform lower level court clerk duties.

Accounting duties include financial entry on various computer syste! ms, receipting of payments from defendants, handling and recon! ciling monies, perform trial and ending balances on oneâs own cash drawer.
Notify appropriate agencies to clear defendant records and reinstate suspended driverâs licenses when appropriate.
Review sentencing orders for accuracy and distribute to defendants.
Verify and process proof of insurance.
Prepare and deliver records to hearing office for those customers with appointments or walking-in to see a hearing officer.
Attend court, including updating the cases on MNCIS in real time, swearing in witnesses, and handling all paperwork required.
Convert contested cases from ViBES to MNCIS, and schedule hearings on the appropriate calendar.
Work includes assisting high volumes of parties in person, or by mail.
Communicate effectively with parties, court staff, attorneys, judicial officers, and the public.
Typical Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from approved high school or vocational school. One! to two years court or legal field experience and/or financial experience. Demonstrated accuracy in data entry and processing cash, check and credit card payments required. Previous face-to-face customer service experience of one to two years required with proven effectiveness. Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting a high customer service demand. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to learn computer programs.
**Keyboarding and ten key typing test required**
Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check.
