Job Description
Functions as primary legal counsel to business leaders of Wells Fargo s insurance subsidiaries. Actively counsels on and participates in complex insurance legal and business projects. Develops and executes business vision, strategies and goals to achieve corporate objectives. Develops and maintains effective relationships within and across business lines at all levels of the organization. Communicates in a timely and effective manner with clients, manager and other Law Department leadership, including issues related to high-risk and/or high visibility matters. Supervises a team of attorneys and paralegals and motivates staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work effectively under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment. Effectively manages the team s budget. Responsible for coaching and development of direct reports.
Ba! sic Qualifications
10+ years as a practicing attorney! . Juris Doctorate. State Bar membership is required.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience leading a team or cross functional group. Ability to lead and manage remotely across multiple geographic locations. Ability to lead and motivate staff to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment. Experience in managing a budget. Ability to make critical decisions. Ability to develop and execute business vision, strategies and goals to achieve corporate objectives. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships within and across business lines at all levels of the organization.
State Bar membership. Experience leading and managing a team of attorneys and staff. Ability to lead and manage remotely across multiple geographic locations. Ability to make well-researched, well-reasoned, practical decisions. Working knowledge of state insurance laws and insurance agency arrangements. Experience ! counseling insurance businesses within a federally regulated financial institution environment.
Command of and significant experience advising clients on insurance matters including:
Insurance carrier relationships;
Insurance producer issues;
Insurance regulatory issues;
Marketing and distribution of personal insurance products to consumers;
Managing and responding to consumer inquiries.
Preferred Skills
Working knowledge of insurance brokerage arrangements.
