Lead Attorney Editor - Business Transactions The candidate will provide legal interpretation in the form of research, analysis, and w! riting to support the development and maintenance of company's legal information in all media, and ensure that published legal information contains and delivers premium legal content. Will be responsible for writing, editing, and maintaining premium legal content and related products for particular practice areas and jurisdictions, as well as overseeing the quality and accuracy of additional content produced by other team members. Research, draft, and edit documents to provide practical guidance on how best to accomplish legal tasks in designated practice areas and jurisdictions. Leverage experience to identify additional issues and tasks to be addressed in new content and enhancements to existing content. Adhere to aggressive editorial publishing schedules and deadlines. Ensure the consistently superior quality of all content produced. Provide overall practice area content oversight, including troubleshooting and quality assurance testing. Support product launches and ongo! ing sales efforts with presentations, customer visits, and oth! er forms of customer support. Participate in the employee evaluation process (both wider feedback and self-evaluation). Develop knowledge of company Legal publications and products related to the employee's responsibilities, and those of competitors. Understand the roles and responsibilities of each collaborator/team member and how each role impacts content production. Demonstrate competence on company specific systems necessary to perform job functions.
The candidate should have a J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school. Admission to a State Bar is preferred. Must have 6+ years of experience as a practicing attorney in business transactions. Law firm experience in both smaller and larger law firms preferred. Experience using online legal research tools is needed. Should have personal knowledge of recent developments and emerging trends in the practice of law within particular practice areas and jurisdictions.
