Extensive administrative work primarily involved in clearing title work for the closing of loans. Contacts are primarily with realtors, attorneys, county offices, lenders and members. Must have the ability to provide significant service to all contacts and have a thorough understanding of the closing processes involved. Assistant Title Closers receive moderate supervision in the performance of duties and responsibilities. Performance is evaluated by employee's ability to obtain objectives with efficiency.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Contact members, real estate brokers, and other title companies to retrieve information needed for the loan closing.
Contact lenders to request payoff statements or subordinate agreements as required.
Package and send documents to lenders, recording pertinent documents, cleaning recording rejects, courier/forward payoffs to lenders or other payees and proofing of closed loan documentation.
Address all title defect items on the title commitment and document all results of clearing such title defects.
Coordinate and schedule of the loan closing with realtors, lenders and members as needed.
Answer questions related to closing requirements.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours) to communicate with employees, members, managers and any other person or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and company goals.
Maintain courteous, professional and effective working relationships with employees at all levels of the organization, members, vendors and/or any other representatives of external organizations.
Communicate information and state problems or challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, nondiscriminatory and professional manner, and be able to provide clarification if necessary.
Adapt with minimal or no advance notice to changes in how business is conducted and work is accomplished, with no diminishment in work performance.
Perform related duties as required.
Education (or Equivalent Experience):
High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications:
None.
Experience:
One year of experience in customer service and/or data entry or relative combinations of education and experience. Experience in mortgage or title industry preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Excellent communications skills and proven effectiveness in working with various internal and external contacts.
Ability to work with a wide range of personalities in a courteous, effective and efficient manner.
Ability to input data accurately and efficiently into computer software systems.
Ability to work under the stress of meeting deadlines while ensuring compliance with all policies, procedures, legal and ethical guidelines.
Ability to exchange information and to report facts and technical information clearly and concisely.
Ability to attend accurately to many details in a timely manner.
Ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and to refer them to the appropriate people for resolution.
Ability to resolve questions and problems and also to manage personal work flow and meet deadlines.
Ability and willingness to work overtime hours as requested.
