Click here to apply for jobWe currently have an opening for a Specialty Coverage Attorney to join our corporate headquarters in Minnetonka, MN. The Specialty Cover! age Attorney is responsible for the management of routine and complex non-claim legal issues, including policy drafting as well as providing legal advice, representation and research.
Responsibilities:
1) Drafts and edits commercial property and casualty insurance coverage forms. Researches statutes, rules and regulations to confirm forms are compliant.
2) Monitors and researches developments in the commercial property and casualty insurance industry. Generates product development strategies based upon these developments and communicates strategies to legal and underwriting management.
3) Conducts legal research for responses to legal, regulatory and compliance issues.
4) Provides legal advice on OneBeacon related issues based on research and analysis.
Requirements:
Extensive knowledge of commercial property and casualty insurance products, coverage, the legal system and developing legal and regulatory issues. Basic unders! tanding of personal computers and software applications for sc! heduling and communications. Demonstrated ability to represent the organization to members of the legal community, government agencies and insurance industry associations. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaboratively work as part of a team whose members are located throughout the country.
Education and Experience:
Bar admission required. The ideal candidate should have 4-8 years of legal experience with three or more years specializing in commercial property or casualty insurance products and coverage litigation. Private practice experience preferred.
