JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for underwriting, credit monitoring and portfolio management of Commercial Banking relationships to achieve efficiencies and quality of the process and product, retention and expansion of existing client relationship, growth of total client assets and net growth in relationships. Primary performance responsibilities include analyzing financial data to determine the merits of loan requests, recommending structure, as well as identifying cross selling/referring opportunities of other deposits services. As a Portfolio Manager, this positio! n will maintain and build loans and deposits, fee income and r! eferrals of business. At a senior level is responsible for direct or indirect oversight of other portfolio managers.

The following are essential job accountabilities and assigned appropriate to the level of experience:
1. Performs all duties in accordance with the Vision and Values of Associated Banc-Corp.
2. Ensure the portfolio administration and risk management of each client relationship is in compliance with established Associated Banc-Corp credit policy, procedure and business strategy as well as commercial and regulatory guidelines.
3. As appr! opriate to experience, co-manage commercial relationships by analyzing financial data to determine the merits of specific loan requests, and recommend structure as well as aggressively managing the client relationship
4. Responsible for credit risk and quality of the portfolio.
5. Assist with due diligence/analysis with new client relationships, opportunity memos as appropriate.
6. Partner with the Relationship Manager as the point of a contact for the client; acting as a liaison to the Credit Department, the Commercial support staff and other internal business partners.
7. May provide advice and counsel to clients regarding trends and conditions of the business environment, capital markets and general banking trends.
8. Monitor loan repayment activities and financial condition of borrowing clients and take necessary action to collect past due accounts and ongoing repayment ability of all other accounts. May assume overall respon! sibility for the credit quality of the loan portfolio.
9. May ! make presentations on specific loans and participate in the bankâs Loan Approval Process, recommending approval and appropriate structure of credits.
10. Manage the renewal process by working with the Relationship Manager the client and the credit department.
11. May as a contact manager for non-borrowing accounts and loan clients for matters relating to other banking services.
12. Responsible for identifying cross sales opportunities of all bank products including Treasury Management, International Banking, Private Banking, Wealth Management, Employee Benefit Services, and AFG, Capital markets to our existing client base as well as prospects.
13. Participates in community and business functions/groups to ensure a positive image for the bank within the regionâs marketplace.
14. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Portfolio Manager Level I: Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or equivalent
Minimum Experience: < 2 years commercial banking experience.

Skills: Administrative:
- Knowledge of lending policies and procedures
- Knowledge of loan agreements, assumptions, accounting, loan structuring, and collateral procedures.
- Understanding of non-borrowing products.
- Understand macro and micro economic issues as they apply to business.
- Understanding of risks (market, rate, leverage, etc) as it applies to the lending process.
- Possess good marketing and presentation skills.
- Strong communication skills â" both written and verbal
- Proficient in Word and Excel
