Senior Court Clerk -- Juvenile

More details about this job opportunity kindly see the descriptions. The Fourth Judicial District is seeking to fill a Senior Court Clerk position in Juvenile Court at the Juvenile Justice Center. This position is responsible for all aspects of juvenile! case processing. This includes performing the full scope of court clerical work involving manual and computerized case processing using MNCIS. The position requires detailed review of legal documents to ensure completeness, adequacy, accuracy and compliance with rules; and determining the correct process to use in accordance with court rules. Work requires the application of independent judgment and the interpretation of policies and procedures based on training and knowledge gained through experience on the job. This position requires good communication, organization and decision making skills, close attention to detail as well as other knowledge, skills and abilities listed below.

Example of Duties:
--Perform high level case processing data entry work utilizing MNCIS, OFS (Odyssey File and Serve), Sessionworks, Microsoft Office and other related computer systems.

--Initiate and image new case filings in child protection and juvenile delinquen! cy matters.

--Generating and processing e-signature a! nd electronically filing orders and notices.

--Review electronically filed and imaged court documents including petitions, motions, reports, and other various documents submitted by court partners.

--Scheduling and calendaring hearings, continuances, and other matters; preparing and sending out hearing notices, orders and other documents, requiring detailed knowledge of applicable terminology, rules and procedures.

--Clerk calendars in the courtroom, which including: preparing calendar, electronic case files and forms for court hearings; preparing court orders; taking court minutes; entering required information into MNCIS such as case events, case activity, processing dispositions and judgments, and completing post-court duties; and administering oaths and setting future court dates.

--Processing payments and receipts; balancing a till.

--Assisting customers at the counter, by phone and through electronic means; communica! te in a courteous, professional, and mature manner; and checking filings for errors, completeness, adequacy and compliance with rules while working with attorneys and customers to make corrections and determine processing required.

Typical Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

--High school diploma or equivalent.

--Juvenile Court Experience and/or knowledge of child protection and juvenile delinquency cases of 6 months to 2 years.

--At least six months customer service experience.

--Proficiency in computer word processing and data entry.

--Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

--Ability and willingness to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.

--Successful candidates will be required to pass a Criminal Background Check prior to appointment

--Ability to lift 40 pounds

--Ability to stand/bend/reach/sit for extended periods of time

PREFERRED QUALIF! ICATIONS

--Strong organizational skills.

-- Excellent! writing skills, people skills and customer service skills.

-- Possession of an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.

--Experience and working knowledge of MNCIS.

--Experience and working knowledge of ApplicationXtender (AX)
