Allina Commons is the Minneapolis-based headquarters of Allina Health, a not-for-profit health care organization serving patients and communities. Responsibilities
This Director and Senior! Associate General Counsel will assist the General Counsel other attorneys in the Allina Law Department, and members of Allina's management by maintaining primary responsibility for a wide variety of physician-related transactional matters and providing legal advice and counsel (including conducting or overseeing legal research, identifying new or emerging areas of risk, etc.) on the Stark law, Anti-kickback Statute, Civil Monetary Penalties Statute and other laws affecting referral and financial relationships between health care providers. The Senior Associate General Counsel must be an effective team member providing legal services to a broad range of health care clients including hospitals, clinics, physician groups, and ancillary operations in a large integrated health care delivery system.
Candidate must demonstrate first-rate research and analysis skills, outstanding written communication skills, excellent verbal communication skills as well as the ability to tran! slate legal complexities into terms readily understood by senior management. Must be able to demonstrate strong leadership, client management and project management skills as well as the ability to work successfully both independently and within a team on a variety of projects in a fast-paced environment. Candidate will be responsible for leading the corporate health law team.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
JD from accredited law school.
10-15 years experience representing health care clients in general corporate and commercial matters including primary and independent responsibility for drafting and regulatory advice on significant transactional matters.
Proven experience managing other junior and senior staff attorneys and leading a function.
Skills:
Excellent academic credentials, writing, communications, strategic problem-solving and leadership skills required.
