Job Purpose:
This position will lead continuous improvement activities in areas such as risk analysis, ergonomics, safety training, accident investigations, and overall safety program to improve the health and safety of employees.

Essential Duties:
Oversee and manage the company’s occupational health & safety program for all US locations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Develop, implement and coordinate of all safety training, policy updates,and regularly evaluate procedures for improvement and adequacy.

Conducts o! n-site reviews and audits of operations and facilities.
Case manage workers’ compensation working collaboratively with third party administrators.

Develop and implement accident investigation, data analysis and recurrence prevention programs and procedures.

Develop policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.

Facilitate and oversee First Response Team.

Provide first aid to injured employees as appropriate.

Partner with facility and department managers, supervisors and engineers to drive safety improvements.

Direct industrial hygiene, occupational and general safety programs to ensure a safe environment and comply with safety standards.

Design and deliver training materials for employees to meet regulatory requirements and company needs.

Coordinate return to work efforts on behalf of injured associates. This will require partnering with both internal and external resources such as: supervisors, managers, cell leaders, hum! an resources, vendors and attorneys.

Educate and provide on-going analysis to all stakeholders within Graco (such as: Factory Managers, Cell Managers/supervisors and Safety Committees) to raise attention to costs/trends and opportunities for improvement in the areas of safety.

Facilitate and oversee the operation of Safety Committees. Emphasizing the importance of the committee members leading the Committees’ efforts. Act as an expert resource for Committee.

Responsible for the internal accident and injury reports; including OSHA record keeping and reporting.

Provide internal investigation and resolution of ergonomic complaints/issues.

Ensure compliance with all state and federal legislation including, but not limited to, FMLA, OSHA and Workers’ Compensation.

Assist Employee Relations and internal Legal Department with safety aspects of employee relation issues.

Work collaboratively with Environmental Specia! list on approval of new chemical products introduced to all US Graco fa! cilities and on projects where there is a need for both safety and environmental expertise.

Collaborate with Disability Specialist and other team members.

Other duties as assigned.

Education/Certifications

BS in safety or related field.

CSP a plus.

Experience

Minimum of five years experience with safety and hazard prevention programs that relate to a manufacturing environment.

Experience with design and administration of safety programs.

Knowledge of ergonomic principles and their application in industrial and office settings.

Skills/Competencies

Ability to independently assess an occupational/non-occupational injury/illness, develop and implement a case management plan, including return to work coordination.

Experience in developing and delivering safety training program.

Subject matter expert in OSHA and other occupational health and safety standards.
Demonstrated interpersonal and negotiating skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills.

Certification in adult CPR and First Aid.

Ability to travel.
