3! M’s Office of General Counsel is seeking a Part-Time Senior Business Lawyer position for an attorney to work with one or more 3M’s Health Care business units located in Maplewood, MN. Be part of what’s next!
Job Summary :
The specific position will depend on the interests and experience of the lawyer we hire and 3M’s legal needs. Duties will include working with 3M businesses to negotiate and draft a wide range of commercial agreements and counseling the business team on compliance with applicable laws and 3M’s Business Conduct Policies. Substantive areas of law will depend on the assigned business unit(s) but may include product liability, contract law, antitrust compliance, and legal issues related to product or service distribution, advertising, and promotional allowances. Experience in these substantive legal areas is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of la! w firm and/or in-house legal experience
- Juris Doctora! te (law degree) from an accredited law school
- Minimum 10 years law firm and/or in-house legal experience involving healthcare
- Currently licensed to practice law in Minnesota or willing to obtain admission to practice in Minnesota within 6 months of hire
- Healthcare regulatory and/or litigation experience
- Previous experience providing client counseling and advising highly preferred
- Client training experience (experience with collaboration tools, virtual training, PowerPoint, or social media tools in training would be very helpful)
- Strong academic credentials
- Track record of working independently with clients
- Experience working on or leading project teams
- Business acumen and an ability to provide legal and compliance advice in the context of strategic business initiatives and goals
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Uncomp! romising honesty and integrity
- High energy and dedicated to responsive client service
- Proven collaboration skills, ability to multi-task, and commitment to working as part of a business and legal team.
