Is it time to try on something bigger where you'll have some room to grow?Try this on for size: Red Wing Shoe Company is looking for a Product Development Manager to create and manage the implementation of the vision for RWs product development, delivery and service. This position manages the activities of internal product support staff and external resources.ESSENTIAL DUTI! ES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan the product assortment from conc! ept to delivery based on sound market research identifying product / consumer trends and competitive analysis.
Responsible for development and upkeep of product pricing each season. Prepare seasonal competitive reviews of the work footwear market Develop and maintain the product development cycle and timeline. Direct internal and external resources to design, develop, launch, deliver, and service products as planned. Manage development schedule to hit critical timelines.
Achieve financial objectives relating to product and merchandising by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, initiating corrective actions. Assure that all product development complies with the RWSC Product Development Process and Quality Standards. Ensure financial and customer service goals are met by providing assistance with accurate fiscal and rolling forecast information. Coordinate with the GM (General manager) to obtain fie! ld input.
Direct and supervise the production and delivery of sales and photography samples. Present / communicate the product assortment and technical feature / benefit information to internal and external customers. Assist with creation of business plans and policies. Assist marketing department in the concept and development of relevant marketing material Travel as necessary to accomplish the sales and marketing goals of the division and corporation.
Participate in company directed activities to accomplish the goals of the division and corporation.OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Obtain necessary information by maintaining knowledge of RWSCs electronic communication software. Maintain quality service by establishing, following, and enforcing quality system standards (ISO). Uphold Red Wing Shoe Companys core values. Complete other duties as assigned from time to time by your manager.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational worksh! ops, classes or programs. Conduct self according to RWSC policies/Handb! ook.CUSTOMERS Internal: Work/Hunt Brand management, administrative and sales staff; Executive Team; Customer Service, Purchasing; Logistics; Warehousing; Marketing Services (all areas); Quality Assurance; Finance; Accessories; Holding CompanyExternal: Red Wing Dealer Network and Distributors; Consumers; Agents; Vendors; Attorneys; and Media. Requirements EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree (B.A/B.S) from four-year college or university and five to seven years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. A Masters degree (M.A./M.S./M.B.A.) is preferred.
Three to five years of experience in product development environment. Two to three years of retail experience in the safety industry or footwear industry.ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS Demonstrated team building and/or leadership success Demonstrated participation in successful product launch Good written and oral communication Knowledge of footwear manufacturing PC s! kills and knowledge of RWSC PC softwareREQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES OR KNOWLEDGEPassport, Valid Drivers LicenseWORK ENVIRONMENTBusiness office, factory visits and trade show booth environments with travel (domestic and international) and work hours as needed to accomplish the goals.
