Radiologist Assistant

Location: Alexandria, Minnesota

We are currently are recruiting for a full-time positio in Alexandria, MN, Monday through Friday, with rotating week-ends and holidays.This position provides support to the radiologists ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Creates a positive epxerience for every customer, every day by believing in and practicing the CDI Experience Obtains license application from state desired. Reviews all instructions, checking for any special requirements. Completes application along with appropriate cover letters and payments. Makes necessary queries to AMA and NPDB for forwarding to state licensing board. Monitors voicemails and emails several times daily. Screens in-coming phone calls and assists physicians in returning or placing a call. Prepares and presents images or films, reports, and pertinent information for radiologist to return patient calls. Follows-up as directed. Sorts, opens, review, and prioritize each doctor's mail. Forwards mail to appropriate department as needed. Processes outgoing mail as directed. Maintains physicians schedule, travel arrangements, and expense accounts, coordinating with other departments as necessary. Types letters, data sheets, notes and memos. Receives phone calls or correspondence from attorneys and their staff regarding scheduling depositions or legal consultation. Informs attorney of CDI policies and terms. Collects all pertinent information regarding upcoming trial, patient and exam. Drafts and sends letter of confirmation with note of deposition fee and cancellation policy to attorney. Tracks, receives and forwards prepayment and any subsequent deposition fees. Secures a conference room for the deposition. Orders office supplies and keeps common physician work areas and offices clean and organized. Orders books and journals including renewal of subscriptions and any other miscellaneous purchases. Updates curriculum vitae in an organized and accurate manner. Renews state medical licenses (Minnesota and any other states), medical society memberships, hospital staff privileges and DEA/Controlled Substance renewals. Calls designated societies to get the next year's projected schedule on conference dates and due dates for submission of abstracts/posters as requested. Processes new medical license applications, paying attention to any special instructions Creates and maintains accurate and up-to-date Curriculum Vitae for each doctor. Obtains CME certificates and logs CME credits. Sees that all doctors have their certificates from attended conferences. Places calls to request certificates if necessary. Pulls and sorts teaching file memos and films or images for physician to review upon request for study purposes. This may involve electronic or paper filing Creates PowerPoint and/or image slides for upcoming lectures or referring physicians. Processes, mounts and annotates slides. Creates and organizes a lecture slide list. Types body, references, bibliography, and legends from original source of manuscript draft, diskette or dictation. Prepares and processes letters of permission for manuscripts. Proofs, edits and submits manuscripts to book or journal in style requested, before deadline date as indicated. Tracks and arranges order of manuscript reprints as requested REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Medical secretary or diploma and/or equivalent experience in the medical industry 2-3 years prior medical office experience strongly preferred Minimum 2-3 years Microsoft Office experience Data entry experience Ability to type 60 wpm CDI is an equal opportunity employer; applicants are considered without discrimination with regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability or other statuses protected by state, local or other applicable laws.
