The Fourth Judicial District is currently seeking a Court Operations Supervisor in the Civil Division for Housing Court/PSL.

Our Court Operations Sup! ervisor leads the day-to-day operations of Housing Court on C3 and the PSL on the Public Service Level in the Fourth Judicial District. The position is responsible for administering and enforcing all relevant policies, reviewing, evaluating, planning and streamlining daily functions, coaching, mentoring and completing performance reviews, monitoring division budget, statistics and financial reports, coordinating maintenance of division facilities including court offices, and working with the public, judges, and court staff. This position involves supervising two different departments located on two different floors in the same building.

Example of Duties:

  • Plan, coordinate, supervise and review the functions and daily operations of personnel in the division. Establish workloads and schedules. Participate in the development and implementation of divisional work plans.
  • Analyze work processes, streamline procedures, and oversee related e-co! urt initiatives.
  • Select, coach, develop and evaluate ! the performance of staff according to set standards. Act as an effective role model to staff in all areas. Assist in developing orientation, training programs, and procedural manuals for employees.
  • Respond to and manage day-to-day operations including issues brought by staff, public and judicial officers. Answer inquiries relative to the policy, practice, and procedures of the court.
  • Plan and implement ongoing business process improvements as they relate to MNCIS and e-Court.
  • Determine methods and procedures to effectively accomplish the mission of the courts consistent with established policies and priorities.
  • Oversee implementation of new and revised policies, procedures, and e-initiatives; recommend improvements for case processing, in procedures and operational policy.
  • Oversee case management for the division to ensure that time standards, statutory guidelines and goals of the court are met.
  • Responsible for the proce! ssing of all legal documents in the division. Maintain court records and prepare correspondence, financial and statistical reports.
  • Maintain division facilities and equipment, assuring that adequate resources are available for administrative staff. Assist in purchase of and oversee maintenance of division’s supplies.
  • Assist in the development of departmental goals and objectives, and budget preparation.
Typical Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Considerable experience as a Senior Court Clerk or equivalent experience; and,
  • Some supervisory experience or lead worker experience in a Court or legal setting preferred or other recent supervisory experience
  • Extensive experience with MNCIS and experience with e-filing and imaging preferred, or proven ability to learn and master case management and other computer systems
  • Any combination of training ! and work experience which indicates possession of the knowledge, abilit! ies and skills to perform the responsibilities of this position.
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a criminal background check prior to appointment.

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, social or behavior sciences, criminal justice, or related field.
  • Skill in planning and supervising the work of others.
  • Skill in communicating effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Skill in team building.
  • Skill in conflict management.
  • Ability to train, motivate, coach and supervise support personnel.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with others.

  • Skill in organization, planning, prioritization and follow through.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member, with minimal supervision
