PRIMARY OBJECTIVE :
The primary responsibility of the Copywriter II is to create customized marketing-focused Web copy for law firms. Copywriters must be able to effectively interview clients and have an understanding of search engine optimization (SEO). In addition, copywriters must work cross-functionally with search engine marketing consultants, designers, and project managers to create effective Web sites and meet project deadlines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Writing:
Create unique text for legal Web sites focused on the specific needs of each client. Prepare for customer conference calls and interview attorneys to gather information that is unique and relevant to their law firm’s marketing strategy and their legal practice areas. Participate in an iterative process with clients to review and develop their web marketing copy. Maintain a working knowledge of general marketing strategies, search engine marketing principles, and areas of legal practice. Develop and maintain an understanding of FindLaw business systems, including software used to ensure efficient delivery and tracking of incoming and completed content drafts. Understand and adhere to Content best practices.

Projects:
Work with the Content team to understand and provide input on best practices or other projects as needed for Web site content. May be required to travel a few times per year on client visits.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required (English/Communications/Journalism degree preferred), Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.

Experience:
1-2 years of professional creative writing experience in marketing, communications, or similar field Internet

copywriting experience preferred Knowledge:
Knowledge of legal terminology a plus. Knowledge of basic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) standards. Familiarity with AP style strongly preferred.

Skills:
Excellent writing skills with demonstrated ability to write successfully for the Web. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong oral communication and interviewing skills. Ability to understand the internet marketing needs of attorneys and an ability to address those needs in an effective and creative manner. Ability to write creatively in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Work well in a team environment, embrace change and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. Ability to meet or beat deadlines. Relationship building skills.
